But for some odd reason, a major amount of folks and
companies are not doing the simple stuff that builds
potential customers trust in them.

Today we're  going to take a look at a very simple
marketing strategy that is working very well for us, and
one that is so simple and easy to do, and will work for

An Effective Way To Drive Traffic To Your Site

Every week we get hundreds of emails to us from
pet owners asking questions about their pets.

All these emails are generated from pages on our pet site,
since on every page we have a Contact Us link with a
pre-addressed email that pops up.

While it's sometimes a daunting task, we endeavor to
answer every single email that comes in.

Now actually there's something special about that believe
it or not.

You would not believe the number of emails we get back
from folks who have said we were the first web site to
actually send an answer to their question back to them.


With all the thousands of pet sites out there, we stand out
because we actually reply to emails!

And go figure, that everyone who is in business on the
web that has a site would think that answering simple
emails would help build trust with their visitors......
yet these sites are not doing the very basics of internet

You see, the Internet is so full of sites that are just in
existence to sell someone something, that so many people
are so leery and need to find places where the customer
is made to feel important and given answers to their questions
in a friendly and prompt manner.

So by actually answering these emails, we are showing people
that there is a real person behind the web site that really
does care about their pets and their concerns. And we
are helping to build a trust in them of us.

We are not in business just to make money.

While money is certainly a big factor, and if we didn't generate
any revenue at all, we could not do business....we don't
put trying to sell somebody something as our only real
reason to be in existence.

And by being honest with folks and showing them we care,
we've in reality been able to make a pretty decent income
from our pet sites.

I believe that the trust and honesty we've put forth are turn
ons to folks and when they come to know us as real people
are more inclined to buy what we offer.

Now here's another thing we do when answering emails that
has driven a lot of traffic to our site.

In just about every email we send out, we include a
thank you for writing and let the person know we appreciate
them for their care and concern for their pets.

We also include a link to our dog, cat or horse care sites
and let them know that we have tons of free info on all
aspects of pet care for them to use anytime, all free of charge.

We also say that all we ask in return for using our site is
that they refer any fellow pet lovers they may know to our site.

And you would not believe the thousands of extra folks we
have coming to our site via these referrals!

So our email marketing plan is really very simple:

1. We actually answer our emails

2. We actually answer a person's questions as honestly as
we can.

3. We offer them all the free info we have on our site
that is relevant to their specific pet.

4. We tell them to refer any of their friends to our site.

And it's working. And working very well.

In less than a year and a half we've gone from no web site
at all to almost 130,000 unique visitors a month.

And also, while we do get a lot of traffic from search
engines, we estimate about one fourth of our traffic comes
from these referrals, so 40,000 targeted visitors a month is
certainly worth us taking the time to answer our emails.


I don't think anything is unrealistic if you believe you can do
it.  I think if you are determined enough and willing to pay the
price, you can get it done.
