Using The Online Press Release Link Building
Strategy
John Taylor
If you market any type of product or service, your online
marketing strategy should include the distribution of online
press releases. They are fairly easy to write and can
potentially get you lot’s of media publicity which, in most
cases, will increase your sales revenue.
But distributing press releases is also an excellent link
building strategy.
Firstly, write a simple press release. You can either do that
yourself or hire a writer through one of the popular freelancer
for hire sites.
Your press release should follow a simple formula... Tell them
what you are going to tell them in the first paragraph; outline
the detail of the story in the middle paragraphs and conclude by
using your final paragraph to summarize what you have just told
them.
For link building purposes, you should include your URL at
least twice on the body of the release, and then once again in
your signature.
Once written, you should double-check it for errors - you want
editors to select it for publication and you want to present a
strong professional image.
Now it's time for you to register for a Prweb.com account:
https://secure.dataovation.com/prweb/register.php and once
registered, you will automatically be logged in. Now click on
"Submit News Release" to gain access to the submission form.
Then input your release into the appropriate fields and, when
you are happy to proceed, click "Save Press Release. This will
take you to a page offering a choice of upgrades. While it is
not necessary, I have enjoyed the best results by using the $30
submission service.
However, I want to point out that your choice of level of
service is entirely optional and it is not necessary to use a
high cost service. If you do choose one of the paid services,
input your credit card information, then click "Continue".
Once your payment has been processed, you're done! If you want
to categorize your submitted releases, you can do that now on
the page following the payment acceptance.
And finally, when you know your press release has been
broadcast by PRweb.com , set up a free Google Alert account -
http://www.google.com/alerts - using a suitable, and preferably
unique, string of text so that you can measure the degree of
reach that your press release has achieved. each time Google
spiders a site that contains your search text they will send
you an email report.
