Prosperity: The Choice Is Yours

Keep in mind that it's who you become in life that
matters, not what you get. If you become more,
you'll get more...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We haven't kept much to a regular schedule over these
past few months, so we apologize for the inconsistent
publishing of our newsletter.
We've kept pretty busy with baseball. Karl my son played
on the high school team and they went to the state semi final
playoffs, only to lose going to the state championship game
by one run.
Plus, I manage both the Pony and Colt baseball teams,
so it's been pretty much either games or practice every day,
plus all the other stuff that goes on. But it's been fun and
rewarding for me to give my knowledge of baseball to
these kids.
The high school season is over, next week the Pony season is
over and only a handful of Colt games left, so hopefully we'll
get back into a more consistent publishing routine.
I "got" a lot out of coaching baseball and helping my son
be a better player.....however what is more important than
what I "got"....is who I have become because of it.
I love doing the baseball thing, and working with the kids,
and in the same light, I also have become a much better
person because of the service I give to these kids.
I gave my valuable time and efforts to help others, yet
have been rewarded many times over as I watch my
kids play a game and grow into fine ballplayers.
Our Pony team is currently 19 wins 1 loss and the Colt
team is undefeated, so I get a real sense of satisfaction in
knowing I have done a very good job in coaching and
developing these kids.
So enough about me, let me ask you, what are you doing
that is rewarding and satisfying to your soul?
I was personally challenged some time ago with a question:
What is your life's major goal?
I spent some serious time thinking about what I really
wanted to accomplish in my life and what my life's purpose
was here on earth.
Know what I came up with?
My life's major purpose is: To help as many people and pets
as possible, be as successful and to live as healthy as possible.
Cool!
What is your life's major purpose?
If you don't know, do you think it's about time you sat down
and gave it some serious consideration.....
I just turned the Big 5 O last week. Over half my life is gone,
but a better half still yet remains. I've learned a lot these
past 50 years, and thankfully still have a lot of energy left
and still have some great dreams for the future.
But, it took me 50 years to figure out why I'm here on
earth. Go figure will ya.
Some folks never know.....do you?
I personally challenge you to right now determine why you
were put here on earth. What is your life's major goal?
We are all God's creatures and we all have a purpose. If
you haven't found it out yet, then start to search for the
answer. It will come to you, you will find it out, but
you must search for it.
Why go through life like so many other folks do, not having
a clue what is going on?
It just doesn't make good sense. For too many years I didn't
even think about it or consider it, the only reason I'm writing
this is because I want you to live as best you can and be
as successful as you can be.
Now, let me tell you about Matt.
Matt is one of my 13 year old ballplayers. A great kid,
wonderful personality, a straight A student in school, is in the
gifted program at school. Matt can do anything well he really
wants to do.
But Matt is on my team because his mother thinks he spends
too much time in the books and doesn't get enough physical
activity. She may be right, but Matt is not the kind of ballplayer, he could be, simply because he's there because of mom.
Matt comes out to practice and the games and does the
minimum possible to get by.
Matt has the physical talents and the ability to be a very
good ballplayer, but he doesn't want to be there, he's there
because his mom makes him come.
Maybe good, maybe bad, but the sad part is, if Matt applied himself and really wanted to be a good ball player, he could be. But he lolligags around and doesn't hustle and do what it takes to be a good player. So he sits the bench a lot. And of course, gets discouraged because he isn't playing more.
What is Matt becoming?
What is Matt getting out of this?
Let me know ask you......are you like Matt?
A wonderful person, that has talents, yet doesn't apply those
talents to the situation at hand and become the best you
can become at what you are doing?
Here's a question I asked my son before the start of this
baseball season: "Are you content in being mediocre?"
Last year he didn't get to play much. A lot of bench time,
he was discouraged, and started blaming everyone else
except himself for his situation.
Matt and Karl are a lot alike. They both are talented, both
could be very good ball players, yet neither gave it all, when
it was time to give it all.
Karl said No, he wasn't content with being mediocre,
and did what it took to earn him a starting position on a
team that went to the state semi final playoffs. He applied himself and did what it took to earn that starting position and become a much better ball player in the process, and a much more developed person because of it.
I need to give the same talk to Matt next year. If I'm right,
Matt will say no and become a starter for our Pony team next year.
Now I ask you another question: Are you content in your
life with being mediocre?
If not, then only you can make that change and become the
kind of person you should become to do what you want in
life and to achieve your life's goals.
Now kid, it's time to get rolling.
Your life becomes what you make of it.
Circumstances and obstacles happen, but they are only
there to strengthen you.
Determine what your life's major goal is.
Then apply yourself with all your heart towards achieving it.
It really doesn't get any simpler than this
I love you all,
Dave
PS: Couple of things that have really helped me become
more of what I want to become, both in business and in
having a prosperous life.
Both I highly recommend your taking a close look at to
see if these might help you as much as they have me.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

THE KEY TO YOUR SUCCESS IS DESIRE.

Your reality forms around your commitment to succeed.
If you're willing to pay the price, your circumstances will change.
If you want something badly enough, you're sure to get it.
Your desires will in time externalize themselves into concrete fact.

Obstacles don't matter very much.
Pain or other circumstances can be there.
But if you want to do something bad enough,
you'll find a way to get it done.

You only have to love a thing greatly to get it.
Desire is the fire of life.
